An unusual day at the Front Porch Library. We had far more volunteers than kids–this after 16 kids last week. Too bad. We had a great program on healthy eating from Ben, a food and nutrition science student at FSU. The Max (one or our regular kids) knelt very close to the dry erase board on which the food pyramid was being drawn, taking surreptitious swipes at the lines Ben was drawing. He redeemed himself by identifying the “dairy” food group. For snacks we ate food group shish kebabs (tomato, cheese, pineapple and ham skewered on a pretzel).
