Today at the Front Porch Library was kind of sad. It was Ryleigh and Corbin’s last day (unpacking moving boxes as their mother packed them didn’t work our as well as they’d hoped). Our read-aloud was “My Side of the Mountain.” JC George gives the diameter of the live-in tree so I figured out the circumference and we measured a piece of string to see just how big a tree home might be–then we string-measured the live oak in the library yard (named Bob Star by popular vote). It was only about a foot smaller around–and it’s real. We then made banana pops and giant bubbles. It is so worth it.
